MAYAA is looking for 40 friendly faces to volunteer in various capacities for the 2007 Awards banquet on October 18, 2007.  Volunteers will also be needed in the weeks prior to the event to deliver tickets and run errands.  Experience is not required.  Successful applicants will be required to attend one orientation session to be held the night before the awards banquet.

-Volunteer positions and descriptions-

Couriers
Deliver tickets within the City of Winnipeg during the week prior to the event.

Crowd Movers
Announce the commencement of the Grand Entry, move the crowd upstairs to the event, assist elderly to elevators, etc., and make sure that smokers hear  announcements. 

Dignitary Ushers
Identify dignitaries and escort them to the VIP room.

Dignitary Manager
Work with Dignitary Chairs to ensure that those participating in the Grand Entry, such as dignitaries, Elders, and the Award recipients are taken care of.

Drum Group Helper
Make themselves available to the Drum Group during the awards.

Runners
Make themselves available to run any errands as required during the awards.

Ticket Taker

Ushers - Dignitaries
Identify dignitaries and escort them to the VIP room 

Ushers - Guests
Show guests to their tables and seat them.
